1. Who created this blog and why? → A boy named Fred Peters. He wanted his readers to find out a few things about him. / 

2. Which free-time activities does the writer mention? → making puppets and rock climbing. / 

3. The writer uses the phrases: I’m really interested in…, I’m also into…, crazy about….What do these phrases show? → They show that he likes/enjoys doing something very much. / 

4. Which tenses does the writer use? Find examples. → 

Present Simple: My name’s Fred Peters. I’m 12 My name’s Fred Peters. I’m 12 years old and I’m from London in the UK., I’m really interested in making puppets!, It’s my new hobby!, I usually make them out of paper or wood., I’m also into rock climbing, My dad and brother are crazy about rock climbing too, so we go rock climbing together once a month.

Present Progressive: 

At the moment, I’m making a wooden puppet of a goat!, I’m planning to make a sheep or a wolf!, In fact, we’re going this weekend!

5. Why does the writer use the linking words and, but, so, because, or? Find examples. → 

Because the writer wants to link his ideas. (e.g. I usually make them out of paper or wood It’s a very exciting and adventurous activity, but at the same time you must be careful because it can be dangerous., My dad and brother are  crazy about rock climbing too, so we go rock climbing togetheronce a month)

 

B. Put the words in the correct order to make sentences. / Розташуй слова у правильному порядку, щоб утворилися речення.

 

1. Greg enjoys doing arts and crafts. / Грег любить займатися мистецтвом та рукоділлям.

C. Talk in pairs. / Поговоріть в парах.

Student A: "What do you like doing in your free time? I enjoy reading books and playing soccer. Do you have any hobbies like that?"

Student B: "I love drawing and playing video games. My friends and I sometimes play video games together, but none of them like drawing as much as I do. Can you tell me a few things about your hobbies?"

Student A: "Sure! I find reading books relaxing and it helps me learn new things. Playing soccer is exciting and keeps me active. What are you planning to do next weekend or this month?"

Student B: "Next weekend, I’m planning to visit an art gallery with my family. This month, I also want to join a new drawing class. Why do you like your hobbies?"

Student A: "I like reading because it takes me to different worlds and I can escape reality for a while. Soccer is fun because it’s a team sport and I enjoy the competition."

Учень А: "Що ти любиш робити у вільний час? Я люблю читати книги та грати у футбол. Твої друзі мають такі ж хобі?"

Учень Б: "Я люблю малювати та грати у відеоігри. Мої друзі іноді грають у відеоігри разом, але ніхто з них не захоплюється малюванням так, як я. Можеш розповісти мені кілька речей про свої хобі?"

Учень А: "Звісно! Я знаходжу читання книг заспокійливим, і це допомагає мені дізнаватися нове. Гра у футбол приносить задоволення, бо це командний спорт і я насолоджуюсь змаганнями. Що ти плануєш робити наступного вихідного або цього місяця?"

Учень Б: "Наступного вихідного я планую відвідати художню галерею з родиною. Цього місяця я також хочу записатися на новий курс малювання. Чому ти любиш свої хобі?"

Учень А: "Мені подобається читання, бо це дозволяє мені потрапити в інші світи і на деякий час втекти від реальності. Футбол мені подобається, бо це командний спорт і я насолоджуюсь змаганнями."
